2009 Hannington Country Fair and BBQ

Sunday 28th June

Feedback from the Fair website on the fete - many many similar remarks were made at the car park as people left.

It was a gloriously sunny day yesterday and the spirit of a Village Fete was hugely embraced by everyone. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing your special event with us ‘townies’ - I am sure that it was a financial success too.

We were pleased to give your survey 9 out of 10 as we left the most enjoyable and very well organised event

I think that speaks for many people and, this and the financial results vindicates the decision to have a credit-crunch car-park with no charges - it clearly drew people in, we reckon to @850 cars, the most we've had to handle to date and, put people in the mood to spend at the fair

 Regards

 Jon

Thank You

Plant Stall

The plant team would like to add to the plethora of thanks already by saying thank you so much for all the green donations that arrived on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  We were quite overwhelmed by the amount of lovely plants which found their way to the plant stall.  The proof was in the pudding and we reckon we clocked about £700 including the percentage given by Wolverton Plants as well.  A special thanks to Abby Sexton (aged 9) who set up stall with the donated pots, vases and other bits donated and raised £67!

It was a first for most of us and quite a day - thank goodness we had some experts on hand!

Well done the organising committee who clearly had everything sorted including the weather!

Judith R and Clare D

Bottle Tombolo

A big thank you from the Bottle Stall for all the very generous donations we received.

Best wishes

Caroline

Hoopla Stall

To everyone who donated & helped with the Hoopla stall at the weekend.

I must confess that we had great fun even though it was hard work - It's WONDERFUL to see the whole village working together!

So after our first year of taking over the stand from the 'lifers' Kinnear family, and let me tell you we have been feeling the pressure .........we have managed to raise £441.20.

Special thanks to the Cotton family (Barry, Sarah, James and Harrison) and the Coneley family (Amanda, Pat and two cats).

Alex

Teddy Tombolo

A big thank you to all who donated teddies etc. for the Teddy Tombola and to everyone who helped on the stall, all the teddies sold out before the ferret race final!

We raised £330.30 after expenses.   I should imagine that there are a lot of tidier children's bedrooms now.

Both the large dog and the large teddy went to Kingsclere people.

Barbara & Tracy

Cake Stall

A huge thank you to the dozens and dozens and dozens of kind people who made an amazing number of varied and delicious cakes/biscuits/muffins/buns/loaves/meringues/chutneys and fudge.

We were worked off our feet from noon to the end selling it all and continually re-supplying the stall. Until the end there was a really staggering display of very attractive Hannington produce on the stand.

We couldn't count the number of items, but the profit is over £1000 and still counting!

Thank you everyone so much for your great generosity.

The cake stall team.

W.I. Tea Marque

Hannington W.I. Members would like to say a big Thank You to everybody who so kindly made cakes for our Refreshment Tent, and also for all the help we had setting up and clearing up.

A special thank you to Daniel for the electricity supply, and Tony and Joan Lewis for the water supply.

We were kept very busy all day, so the tea and cakes seemed to go down very well with everybody.
